Below is a PDF file of the latest NUCC (National Uniform Claim Committee) update on the proposed changes to the CMS1500. There are no final specs and no implementation date as noted. We have been in this business for over 30 years and one certainty I can offer is that even once it is approved there will be at least a year before it becomes mandatory. An agency has never (and I am not sure they can), require immediate mandatory requirement for usage. Software companies have to react, database systems have to be updated, manufacturers have to be given the specs to ramp up production. My advice is to continue purchasing no more than 9-12 supply and stay tuned to PHCS for an update.
